Contracts |
Companies with facilities can derive additional revenue by giving other companies access to them through contracts. Obviously, companies with no facilities of their own get more facilities available to them through contracts. Every company in Taxi Mogul has a contract with one of the game companies giving access to a few basic facilities. Companies providing facilities are called suppliers. Conversely, companies getting facilities under a contract are consumers. |

Contract negotiation |
Only the suppliers may propose contracts to others. They can do that by navigating to the potential consumer’s company page and clicking Propose a contract button. Consumers may solicit contracts by sending in-game messages to companies that expressed interest in contracting their facilities. These messages can be sent from the supplier’s company page by clicking the Message company button. When proposing a contract, suppliers can specify a range of options for the proposed contract:
Dispatch/rank access termsThese consist of two parts. Per-fare fee is a flat charge applied to each customer (this isn’t affected by how many seats are in the car). Fare percentage charge is charged as a percentage of the base fare paid by the customer, excluding tips. This can as high as 300%: even in this case the consumer will pay 3 times the fare, but will make some money off tips. Either or both these charges can be zero. They are simply added up when a customer is accepted and then transferred to the supplier’s bank account. For
example, if a consumer accepts a customer with the base fare of $23
from a
dispatch, where terms are $3.00 fee and 20% charge, they will pay
Gas station and repair shop termsThese are expressed as a percentile markup. Consumers pay the base cost of gas/repairs to the game, and then send a percentage of that fee to the supplier. For example, a markup of 40% on a gas station will see consumers paying a total of 140% the base gas price, of which 40% will be received by the supplier. Rest stop termsRest stops specify an hourly charge for putting drivers into them. This is received by the supplier in whole. |

Signing contracts |
Once a contract is proposed, the supplier will receive a message telling them about it. At this stage both parties will see the contract on their Contracts tab marked as a proposal. It is up to the consumer to accept the contract offered to them. They can also negotiate terms of the contract by clicking the Negotiate button on the contract page. This simply sends a message back to the supplier. Suppliers can freely modify terms of proposed contracts. Each such a modification sends a message to the prospective consumer detailing the change. Once the consumer is happy with the terms of the contract offered to them, they can accept it. Introductory fee is paid upon acceptance, and the contract is then valid for the number of days specified in it. As long as the contract is valid, facilities provided under it will appear on the Drive page as usual. Terms for each facility are also displayed there. |
Modifying active contracts |
Once a contract is accepted, it must run for its original term and may not be canceled prematurely. Its terms cannot be modified with one exception: Suppliers may add additional facility categories to the contract retroactively. Consumers are notified of this change, but have no choice in the matter. Existing facility terms may not be modified by either party. Extending contract durationWhen an active contract is near its expiration date (less than 4 days), the supplier can extend the contract validity by a further number of days. This is done by clicking the Extend contract button and selecting the number of days to extend by. Consumer is sent a message about such term extensions, and the contract will run through till the new expiration date. Since the supplier might not be willing to keep the contract past its original expiration date, they can terminate contracts extended this way prematurely. A Terminate contract button appears on the contract page, and the contract can be cancelled by clicking it. Supplier is sent a message informing them of the termination. They can, of course, propose a new contract at that point. |

Limits on contract numbers |
