Welcome to Taxi Mogul. These are the first few steps you should make as a new player with a brand new company.

Taxi Mogul is a free taxi business simulator game. You get to try your hand at running a taxi company in New York (and other locations).

By exercising cunning business tactics you can grow your company to be the biggest and most powerful around. You can band with other players and run your company together, increasing your personal worth. Check out the company leaderboards and player leaderboards to see what you should strive for!

The game is multiplayer and persistent: your company runs by itself in real time, and you just need to provide management once in awhile (a few times a day is perfect). Play as much or as little as you want, it’s all up to you.

This guide details all aspects of game functioning. You should at least scroll through it to get an idea of everything that’s possible. Whenever you see small image thumbnails on the right, clicking on them will show you helpful screenshots that you can browse through.

We also provided some in-game tips displayed on your company & player pages as well as inside the Drive page. Make sure those are on until you figure out your way around the game. You can re-enable them on the main help page.

Click on the thumbnails to the right to see screenshots with explanations. You can navigate between screenshots by clicking the Prev and Next buttons in the popup.

When playing Taxi Mogul, you are represented by your Player account. However, you are also running a company, which is distinct from your player identity. This lets you run your company with friends, and join existing companies, or buy/sell companies from other players. Your company's bank account is separate from your player bank account, and you need to move money between the two explicitly.

You can access your Player account page by clicking your name in the top-right corner. Your unread personal messages and personal bank balance is also shown there.

To access the company you run, click the company page in the top-left corner. Company's unread messages and bank balance is shown there as well.

Make sure to take a look at the screenshot to the right.

Your company should be setup with a car already. Get it running to generate some revenue:

1. Go to the Drive page (linked in the top-right corner of all pages).
2. Select your car and click Dispatch in the pop-up bubble.
3. Leave journey distance the default, and click Talk to dispatch on the left panel.
4. If prompted, click Show on map to see your customers on the map.
5. Select one of the customers.
6. Lay out a route (we recommend using Auto-Route button at this stage).
7. Finally, click Drive route to get the car on the way.

You should have some player cash (top-right corner). You can invest it in your own company by going to your company page (click on the site logo), and clicking Invest. We recommend investing $300 at this point. You can invest up to the $400 you have in your bank account.

Investing moves money out of your player account into your company account, essentially. See section on investments if you want to know more.

All Taxi Mogul driving happens on real maps with real directions. Your drivers need your input to drive their fares well. Read our section on driving customers for details on how to maximize your profits from driving customers.

The more cars you have running, the more money will your company be making. Some of the larger companies have up to 100 cars:

1. Click the Purchase more vehicles under the Vehicles tab on your company page
2. Select a car you can afford (a Tutorial car, for example) and click Purchase
3. Review its details and click Purchase car
4. If you are a new user, the car should become available straight away
5. Finally, get this car on the way the same way you did with your first car.

Proceed to the Community page. There you will see a list of recent dispatches made by other players. Clicking on them will show you more details.

Find one with a high Trip time ratio (you are unlikely to succeed at challenging dispatches with ratio of less than 120% at the start), that also has a Challenge button. Click it and wager some amount (for example, $10).

After that is done, proceed to the Drive page, and you will be asked to complete your challenge.

You will need to lay out a route that is faster than the one done by the other player. If successful, you will make some cash on your bet. Make sure you understand how routing works first, though.

You can invest the money you earn from challenges into your company, giving you more cash to work with.

You get some money for inviting your friends into the game. This is only paid if your friends join and proceed to play the game, so please do not spam people randomly. See details on your player page.

Once your friends are in the game, you can run your game together as a team. This is a sure way to speed up your company’s way to the top!

BureauPoints allow you to get many of the in-game items and cars bypassing the in-game currency. For example, rather than slaving for days to earn enough for a better car, you can simply buy one with BureauPoints.

You get a free BureauPoint every day that you drive at least one customer. You get another one if you drive at least 6 customers (and two more for driving 30 customers, but you’re unlikely to be able to do that at the start).

You can buy BureauPoints in bulk with PayPal or your mobile phone here.

Finally, you can get lots of free BureauPoints by completing offers on the offers page. These come with no strings attached.

You can purchase more cars (more cars = more customers = more money). Since your cars drive in real time, you will need to come back in an hour or so when they’re done. Subscribe to your RSS feed (available after you log in) to get notified when things happen in your company.

Take a look at the Vehicles tab to see when your cars are going to be finished.

Once finished, you will be able to get more customers into them.

• Keep an eye on your vehicles’ condition. If it gets too low, the vehicle can break.
• Your drivers will get tired from driving. To get your drivers to rest, you will need to remove them from a car and optionally put them into a rest stop.
• Sign some contracts with other players to get access to more facilities in the game. Check out Small ads on the community page.
• Get your friends to join the game and become partners in your company. You will manage your company together, and will be allowed more cars and drivers.

Taxi Mogul is quite a complex game with some deep strategy and thinking involved. Give it some time, and you'll find yourself doing well in no time.
